EYEBROW THREADING PROCEDURE

Step 1 - The practitioner holds one end of the cotton thread in the mouth, forms a loop with the right hand and holds the long end of the thread with the left hand.  The loop is placed on a hair and tightened with both hands, thus pulling it out from the roots.

Step 2 - The thread is twisted and pulled along the area of chosen unwanted hair.  The thread acts like a mini-lasso and lifts the hair follicles directly from the roots.

Step 3 - Lower area of the eyebrow is threaded first then the centre and upper section of the eyebrows are completed.

Step 4 - After shaping the eyebrows, your face is wiped with dry cotton to remove any superfluous hair fallen on the skin.  An astringent is applied to reduce any redness of the skin

DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?

For first timers there may be a very slight burning sensation, which will quickly subside.  this sensation is the result of the hairs being removed by the root.  The pain will become less noticeable with successive treatments.  For those with sensitive skin, we will ensure you are looked after and any redness will disappear within 15-30 minutes, depending on the sensitivity of the skin.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE AND AFTER THREADING

Before:  Do not apply make-up to the area to be treated.  Avoid using tweezers a week before treatment.  If you are aware of any skin conditions, allergies or any other problems, please inform the aesthetician.

Tinting:  Please ensure you have a patch test at least 24 hours before treatment.  Beauty plus will not be held responsible for any allergic reactions which may result if no patch test was undertaken prior to treatment.

Aftercare:  You may have some soreness and experience redness if you have sensitive skin.  Applying rose water or calamine lotion(in more severe cases) to the affected area will help.

Avoid the following 3-12 hours after treatment:  Excessive scratching/rubbing the treated area, do not apply perfumed cosmetics/make-up or chlorine based treatments of any kind.   Do not have sunbed treatments.
